Hi Tammy,
I would be honored to be your mentor on your yoga path. Thank you for your trust & faith in me. I will help you with any paperwork, letters, etc. you need for the application. I will be working my schedule to accommodate teachers mentoring with me. It might mean, I'll add a couple of classes during the months of the training to make it as accessible as possible for everyone.

Cheers to your continued success,

Stacy

Hi Stacy how ya be/ Anywho I am in the process of checking all the mentors out for the 300 hr training and since I have already taken your class I would like to put you on my list as a selected mentor would this be ok? Also can I get a letter to submit from you that I have completed the training with Yoga Works as waiting for the actual paper work from Yoga Alliance or even Yoga Works well you know... The dilema is this I read the requirements for the program and one is taking a class while assisting a class once a week with your mentor. I am coming a long way and I would like to make best use of my time so if I could kill two birds with one stone that would be great...are you doing back to backs any time during the week? Have any suggestions on how to trouble shoot this? Thanks for your time Ciao T Also personally I would want to take a level 1/2 class from you

Hi Tammy,
I think most of us live in an ADD world these days. Since you already have a great deal of yoga experience & are going to be a teacher soon. I would suggest either my Yoga Body Power Yoga Live or Yoga Body Fat Burning. Power Yoga Live is filmed outside in a gorgeous setting with many students of different abilities, yet all flowing to the same rhythm of breath.
Yoga Body Fat Burning flows from sun salutations to a flowing, connected sequence of standing postures before the seated & finishing poses.
Either one of these DVD's reminds us to keep the sound of your breath louder than your inner dialogue, which is the perfect antidote for ADD.

Hi Stacy
I missed your core workshop. Long live ADD anywho I know my core weakness is holding me back so the question is which of your DVDs adresses this issue more than another DVD. Also I really am so impressed and excited you have been put in my path. Your style of teaching resonates with me like no other. As I have said before you truly have been blessed with a gift.

Thanks Leigh. I think most of us are always working on how to find balance in our life. I try to keep things in perspective & realize that there are times when life is just busier than other times and I try to find the joy in those full times of my life knowing that the pace is not forever.

Bob,
What are the "multiple uses for the word yoga?" How do you know "in Patanjali's time, no one could agree on the definition of the word yoga?"
The fact is (And note you draw your facts from the Hindus Patanjali and a Swami. so what is the point?) that the Yoga that is misrepresented as simply an exercise is not that at all. In these so-called "yoga classes," the "teachers" use other Sanskrit/Hindu terms and concepts without disclosing the (inseperable) Hindu connection. This new-age yoga is simply a matter of denial.

Thanks Bob- One's motives are not the litmus test for right/wrong, moral/immoral. People who stole land, uprooted culture from Native Americans, killed six million Jews, felt/feel women and minorities do not warrant equal rights , etc., do not feel there is anything "nefarious" in their thoughts or deeds. Likewise, those who distort and uproot Yoga/Hinduism do the same. It is nefarious to redefine/steal someone's sacred words/practices, in effect eroding their culture, dignity and rights as perpetrated in above examples.

As to those sources, any honest research will show that all (real) yoga is Hinduism. Just reflect for a moment... on someone calling themselves Swami...what is a Swami and what would they (ethically) teach? What would you expect a Rabbi, Priest, or Imam to be teaching? As to Chip Hartranft, who I have no idea about other than obviously not Hindu by name, what depth of understanding would be expected from someones commentary on sacred scripture they have no first hand knowledge of? What other religion do you find the word yoga or Swami in? Anyone can write whatever they want, but look into scholarly texts on comparative religion, dictionaries, etc.

Thanks for your response, yati.

I can only repeat my previous response. It's the answer to most of what you write above, too. There is more than one definition for the word "yoga", and words naturally develop over time, without any nefarious motives.

My sources for Patanjali are mostly Swami Satyananda Saraswati in "Four Chapters on Freedom" from Bihar School in India and Chip Hartranft in "The Yoga Sutra of Patanjali".
